Before beginning assembly, read the instructions and identify parts using the figures and parts listed in this document. It is critical that all parts be carefully inspected by the installer prior to installation to ensure that no damage occurred in transit and that a damaged part is not used. If any damage occurred in transit, Aqua Creek Products, LLC must be notified within three days of receipt of unit. The installation must meet the following requirements: • Clear Deck Space Dimensions (see FIGURE 1)• Centerline of seat between 16 and 22 inches from the pool edge• Deck slope no greater than 1:48• The seat must go at least 18” into the water. The lift should be installed at a location with 44”-48” of depth (deck to pool floor) *Setback distance will vary on curved walls, contact Aqua Creek NOTE: The FIXING BOLT is used to fix the portable lift in place, and to ensure that it remains in an ADA approved location. This makes the lift fully ADA compliant. DO NOT USE LIFT WITHOUT SAND AS A COUNTERWEIGHT! Patriot-AT1 Assembly Instructions 1. Remove the assembled lift from the packaging and move to the pool side. 2. Situate the lift where you want it by the pool edge (refer to page 4 for specifics). Lock your casters and set the brake by turning the brake knob enough so the brake foot just comes into contact with the pool deck. 3. Attach the seat belt through the loops in the seat base and pinch the hook & loop material together. See diagram to right. 4. Apply dielectric grease on the metal tabs of the battery and the control box on the lift. 5. Install the battery by aligning the tabs on the battery with the tabs on the control box on the lift and snap the battery into place. You should hear a ‘click’ when the battery in installed properly and there should be no gap between the battery and control box. NOTE: To extend battery life, always store battery on the charger when the lift is not in service. Apply dielectic grease on the end of the handset cord and firmly push the cord into the large outlet on the left side of the control box. See Figure 2 to right. It should be slightly recessed when properly inserted. 7. Fill the ballast tank with sand (supplied by others) as outlined in Figure 3 below. Alternate the funnel with each fill port to make sure the sand is evenly distributed in the ballast. Shake or tap the ballast sides periodically to help level the sand. 8. With the counter weight now in place, deploy the lift from the cart so the lift is in operation mode. DO NOT OPERATE LIFT IN THE TRANSPORT MODE! 9. Operate the lift without a person in it to verify that the lift will work in the location. Check clearances and make sure the lift seat has enough clearance between it and the pool wall as it extends into the water. 10. Once you are sure this is the location you want the lift to be, you can install the ADA fix kit designed to affix the lift to the deck as required in commercial applications. REMOVE SCREWS &CAPS FROM BOTHHOLES TO FILL TANK. FILL BALLAST TANKWITH 12, 50lb BAGS OF"ALL-PURPOSE" SAND. OR, AT A MINIMUM, FILLTHE TANK WITH 600lbs OF"ALL-PURPOSE" SAND. REPLACE SCREWS & CAPSWHEN TANK IS FILLED. BALLAST TANK WARNING! DO NOT OPERATE THE LIFTBEFORE FILLING THE BALLAST TANK! Determine the location of the anchor insert, allowing for the ADA compliant clear deck space. (SEE Figure 1, pg 4) 2. Mark the location for the 1-1/4” x 4” deep anchor hole. Drill a 1-1/4” diameter, 4” deep hole at the marked location. 3. Dry-fit the anchor insert to make sure it fits flush with the deck surface. 4. Fill the hole ½ full with epoxy. Install the anchor insert flush with the deck surface. Allow 24 hours for the epoxy to cure. 5. Roll the portable cart over the installed anchor. Align the anchor with the fixing bar. 6. Drop the fixing bolt into the fixing bar and start to thread the bolt into the anchor by hand. Adjust the alignment until the bolt threads in a couple of threads by hand. This is to ensure the bolt is properly aligned before threading with a wrench. 7. Tighten the fixing bolt with a 3/4” wrench or socket. Tighten until the bolt is just touching the flat washer. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Roll Patriot-AT1 Lift to designated position on the deck. Install fixing-bolt (when required). Stand behind the lift to tilt it back and down using the handle. (SEE Figure A) 2. Roll the lift forward until it comes to the end and the pins engage with the slots. 3. Rotate the lift forward and down until it rests flat on the deck. Turn the handle of the brake- foot clockwise until the brake-foot is firmly in contact with the deck. The lift is now ready to use. Tilt the lift back and down until the lower wheels are at the cart level. 2. Roll the lift back and onto the cart. Roll all the way back to the end of the guide frames (see close-up detail). 3. Pivot the lift forward and down until it is resting on the cart. Rotate the brake-foot handle counter-clockwise and raise it off the deck. REMOVE THE FIXING BOLT (if applicable). RECHARGE THE BATTERY AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. The battery power unit is a sealed lead acid battery pack. Frequent recharges will prolong the battery life and maintain a high cold amperage capacity. THE BATTERY SHOULD BE STORED ON THE CHARGER WHEN NOT IN USE. 2. Do NOT expose the battery to freezing temperatures. 3. Do NOT expose the battery to prolonged periods of extreme heat or severe cold temperatures. 4. Do NOT expose the battery to long periods of direct sunlight. Heat will shorten your battery life. Optimum operating temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees F.) 5. Never drop or bump the battery pack. This may result in loose or damaged internal connections, and may damage the battery terminals. 6. Keep battery terminals clean and free from dirt and corrosion to ensure good contact. The terminals may be cleaned using alcohol and a cotton swab. Clean off any corrosion or discoloration of the battery contacts with a Scotch-BriteTM pad and then apply dielectric grease (supplied with lift) as shown in the figure below. Clean with alcohol and a cotton swab and apply dielectric grease to terminals 10 11/27/17 V.1 Copyright © 2015 Aqua Creek Products All Rights Reserved Revised 3/27/15 V.1 Proper Care of Pool & Spa Lifts PROCEDURE DAILY WEEKLY MONTHLY Wash down lift with fresh water and dry with clean, soft, non-abrasive cloth  Recharge battery  Run the lift through a complete test cycle to verify it is functioning properly  Visually inspect lift for damage, corrosion, and loose or missing hardware  Check all contact points for damage and/or corrosion  Repair, clean, and apply dielectric grease to all contact points  Thoroughly clean lift frame and apply a liberal coat of car wax to maintain the lift’s finish  Check all warning and cautionary labels to make sure they are not faded or worn. Replace as needed. PROPER CARE NOTES • Use only fresh water to wash your lift. Do not wash with pool water • Use only clean, soft, non-abrasive cloths to wipe down your lift • Do not store lift in pump room or near chemicals • Do not allow children to play on or around this lift • When cleaning the lift do not spray water directly on electronic components • The lift may need to be bonded according to local code requirements For service and/or replacement parts contact Aqua Creek Direct at Toll free: (888) 687-3552 To remove stains, wash affected area with mild dish soap. For stubborn spots and stains try using Soft ScrubTM with some brisk rubbing. Use white epoxy paint to touch up. Apply wax to finish. The cord plugs should be recessed into the outlet. You should feel them pop into place when they are correctly inserted. Solution: 1) Make sure the Battery is properly seated: You should hear a click when the battery is properly seated on the control box or charger. Click! NOT Properly Attached: Note: the white bracket is in front of the silver clip, which will not allow for an electrical connection Properly Attached: Note: the white bracket is behind the silver clip, holding it securely to allow for an electrical connection NOT Properly Inserted: The cord plug is flush with or sticking out of the outlet Properly Inserted: The cord plug is recessed into the outlet 14 11/27/17 V.1 Copyright © 2015 Aqua Creek Products All Rights Reserved Revised 3/27/15 V.1 Troubleshooting Guide (CONTINUED) The Charger is ON when the green light is glowing The Battery is CHARGING when the orange light is glowing When the Battery is charged, the orange light will stop glowing 4) Make sure the Battery is fully charged: 3) Check the contact points: Make sure the contact points of the control box and the battery are not damaged or corroded. If there is corrosion, clean with Scotch-BriteTM pad. Put some dielectric grease on the contact points before reattaching the battery. Problem: The lift stopped moving over the water and is stuck. Solution: 1) Press the Emergency button Use a pin or pen tip and stick it into the emergency button on the front of the control box to retract the lift. Note: the lift will not retract if the battery is not fully charged or if the control box is not working. Aqua Creek Prod- ucts, LLC (a.k.a. Aqua Creek) also warrants to the original end user that all non-frame components manufactured by Aqua Creek, when properly installed in accordance with assembly and installation instructions, and properly used and maintained, shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase, provided that Aqua Creek receives prompt notice in writing of any defect or failure and satisfactory proof thereof, with the following exceptions: Exception: All electrical components, including the linear actuator shall have the following warranty period: Year 1-2: 100% Coverage Year 3: 60% Coverage (Customer is responsible for 40% of replacement cost) Year 4: 50% Coverage (Customer is responsible for 50% of replacement cost) Year 5: 40% Coverage (Customer is responsible for 60% of replacement cost) This warranty specifically excludes reimbursement for labor to remove, repair, or install the product and any return freight charges. These warranties do not cover any damages due to accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or failure to properly maintain any products, or normal wear and tear from day to day operations. In the event that any products are altered, repaired, or improperly installed or improperly used by anyone without the prior written approval by Aqua Creek, all warranties are void. IMPORTANT: AMOUNT OF WEIGHT PLACED ON LIFT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE RATED LIFTING CAPACITY FOR THE LIFT. NEVER OPERATE THE LIFT UNDER LOAD IN A DRY POOL (WITH NO WATER IN THE POOL). It is the responsibility of the lift owner to verify the weight of the patron for war- ranty claim purposes and to ensure that the lift is not overloaded. To initiate a warranty claim, the owner of an Aqua Creek product must provide the place of purchase, in writing, with a full description of the product, its serial number, the dates of purchase and installation, and the exact nature of the defect. Within thirty (30) days after receipt of a written warranty claim by Aqua Creek, and barring any unforeseen delays, the place of purchase will be notified of Aqua Creek’s decision regarding the claim. If requested by Aqua Creek, any defective product must be returned, freight prepaid, to Aqua Creek’s designated factory location or duly appointed distributor for inspection and/or repair. Aqua Creek will, at its option, repair or replace the failed or defective item, and deliver the repaired product or replacement to the buyer of the product, freight prepaid to the destination provided for in the original order. Prod- ucts returned to Aqua Creek for which Aqua Creek provides replacement under this limited warranty shall become the property of Aqua Creek. A new warranty period shall NOT be established for the repaired or replaced products. Such products shall remain under warranty only for the remainder of the original warranty period on the original products purchased. This written limited warranty constitutes the final, complete and exclusive statement of warranty terms. No person or organization is au- thorized to make any other specific or implied warranties or representations on behalf of Aqua Creek. THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, WHICH ARE HEREBY DIS- CLAIMED AND EXCLUDED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE.
