A continuous air barrier is
required per 2015 IECC table
R402.4.1.1 Indicate the
continuity of the air barrier and
where it is located throughout
the building. Note locations that
require caulking, sealing, taping,
etc. Note which components are
included in the air barrier such
as spray foam, gypsum,
housewrap, and/or exterior
insulation. You may have all of
the above but you need to pick
one continuous barrier and stick
to it. It needs to follow the
thermal barrier. The better detail
you provide, the easier it will be
for the contractor and inspector
to be successful. This is a new
2015 code requirement in lieu of
a blower door test.

M-601 calls for ERV to run 20
min/hour rather than
continuously. Changing these
two variables increases the
required ventilation rate to be
~300 cfm. Clarify whether the
ventilation will be running
continuously, or increase the
size if it will be run intermittently.

1. Asbestos - The final asbestos abatement report and license to demolish will be submitted to the Building
Department once all other comments are addressed. The existing home is currently being rented and the
Owner wishes to continue to do so. The mitigation will occur once all departments have signed off on all
other aspects of the permit.
2. A-405 - The sheet A-405 shows the single method of radon mitigation that we will be using for this project. F-
1 on sheet A-501 shows the soil gas/vapor retarder. The proposed floor plans show the location of radon
ventilation via keynote 60.
3. A-503 - Air sealing note added to detail sheets A -503, A-504 and A-505. Air barrier details added on sheet
A-502.
4. A-605 - Safety glazing is shown on exterior door schedules - sheets A-603, A-604, and A-605 for the
windows where it is required per R308.4.
5. Grade-2 - Garage foundation wall next to the micropile wall extends down 42”. The full height foundation wall
in the same location is at least 3’ from the micropile wall. The micropile wall serves as the footer for the
garage, see detail 7/A-502.
6. GX-1 - Sheet GX-1 updated for construction.
7. L500 - Landscape drawing set updated for construction.
8. L500 - All snowmelt details shown in Civil drawing set.
9. M-110 - Sequence of Operation ERV-1 note on sheet M-601 revised to show ERV to run continuously. Sheet
Detail Note #1 on sheet M-110 to remain.
10. M-601 - Sequence of Operation ERV-1 note on sheet M-601 revised to show ERV to run continuously.
11. M-602 - Ventilation Calculations on sheet M-602 updated for ERV-1 to run continuously.
12. Special Inspections - The Special Inspection and Testing Agreement form will be provided after all other
comments have been addressed.
