Coefficient of Performance of the system must be at least 3 as per American Research Institute Standard performance
method (ARI 330) or ISO 13256-1 for closed loop earth-coupled heat pump systems (for hydronic systems use an output
temperature of 115 degrees F) or equivalent procedure.
NOTE: A GSHP is an energy-efficient option that significantly reduces energy use and minimizes REMP payments. The
REMP payment associated with a GSHP is used to offset the coal powered electricity over 20 years. This option is
calculated on REMP summary sheet.
