Chester C-60 Horizon™ Lofted Pool and Spa
A. DESCRIPTION OF WORK INCLUDED
1. Product Dimensions
Both Pool and Spa are to be fabricated off site will all finishes
installed. Product will be filled and operated prior to shipment.
Piping will be tested at 20 psi. for a period of four hours

2. Tank Walls
Walls shall be prefabricated from 10-gauge 304L Stainless steel
plate. Walls shall be assembled in the factory. Walls shall be
capable of a freestanding installation, incorporating 3/16” steel
stiffeners, braces and a-frame buttress supports if needed. Walls
shall include a stainless-steel Bullnose with provision for deck
waterproofing
3. Gutter Design
*The pool shall be with a full perimeter Chester Horizon™ deck
level water system or approved equal. Gutter shall carry a PVC
manifold and fitted with a custom stone paver. Slots in paver
shall allow for full perimeter skimming. Depth markers shall be
engraved in the stone and epoxy filled for contrast

*The pool bottom shall be welded 7 Ga. stainless steel, supported
by fabricated tapered steel channels to provide needed slope.
5. Coatings System
*The pool floor and walls shall be fitted with 2” tile. Contractor
will select from the Daltile Keystone™ selection or approved
equal. Tile adhesion should be performed utilizing the Laticrete
adhesive with epoxy grout per manufacturers guidelines
B. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
1. The pool and spa shall be a product of a Pool Contractor
regularly engaged in the engineering, fabrication, and erection of
swimming pool systems. The Pool Contractor shall provide
evidence of at least Twenty-five (25) projects of like magnitude
and materials.
2. The pool shall be designed to comply with the published
standards of the State Board of Health as they apply to material
and services furnished herein.
3. Any request for approval of a substitute must be in the form of a
complete set of engineering drawings, structural calculations
and specifications, prepared specifically for this project by an
Engineer registered in this state, and be submitted to the
Architect not less than ten (10) days prior to bid date.
4. The proposed substitute shall comply with all the design,
performance, and warranty requirements in this section.
C. SHOP DRAWINGS:
1. Submit for Architect's approval a minimum set of drawings
showing general layout and scope of all work, all sections and
details for fabrication and installation, and all items requiring
coordination with the structure and with the work of other trades.
2. Submit in writing with Shop Drawings, variations from Contract
Drawings and/or Specifications. Variations so noted shall take
precedence over Contract requirements upon Architect's
approval of the Shop Drawings.
D. DESIGN CRITERIA:

1. Pool will be designed and constructed to meet all applicable
published regulations of State Board of Health Codes, including
allowable tolerances.
E. POOL WARRANTY:
1. Pool Contractor shall provide a Ten (10) year warranty from date
of start-up acceptance against defects in workmanship and
material for the pool tank, tile and piping.
Warranty excludes damage due to fair wear and tear, deliberate
abuse, mechanical damage, vandalism, and defects caused
by uncontrolled external pressure.
F. ABOVE WARRANTIES ARE EACH SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING
CONDITIONS:
1. Warranties are effective upon receipt of full payment to the Pool
Contractor for the total Contract amount.
2. Liability is limited to repair in place of defects and does not cover
damages due to loss of use, loss of profits, or consequential
damages.
3. Pool Contractor must approve any modifications or additions by
others to the original pool after installation.
4. Written notice of defect must be delivered to Pool Contractor
within fifteen (15) days of the date defect is discovered.
G. GENERAL
1. Pool system specified herein, as manufactured by Chester Pool
Systems, Inc., New Albany, Indiana,1-800-248-5486, utilizing
materials and procedures outlined below which shall be the
basis for technical quality for any other manufacturers
requesting consideration of their pool system. Refer to Item B, 1-
4 above.

POOL FILTER & DECK EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION

A. DESCRIPTION OF WORK INCLUDED
1. Filter(s)
*The filtration system shall include all equipment and accessories
necessary for an operable system. The filter, pump, valves and
piping shall be fully assembled, palletized and factory tested.
2. Lighting
*Provide Hayward LED, or equal underwater lights with non-
corrosive niches. Light fixtures to be installed by Pool Contractor.
With conduits and final connections by electrical contractor
3. Grab Rails
*Provide 1.9” O.D. stainless steel overhang ladders with cycolac
steps, as shown on the drawing, with deck anchors provided as an
integral part of the sidewall construction.
4. Safety Equipment
*One (1) 24” U.S.C.G. approved life buoy with 40’ x 1/4” poly throw
line.
*One (1) double arm anodized aluminum life hook on fixed 16’
aluminum pole.
*One (1) 16 unit first aid kit.
5. Test kit
*Provide LaMotte Model PM-51 test kit with tests for free chlorine,
total chlorine, pH, alkalinity and total hardness, cyanuric acid.
Provide complete with instructions, water quality handbook, and
rugged carrying case with handle.
B. GENERAL
1. The filter system shall be a product of a company regularly engaged
in the manufacture of water filtration equipment, with a minimum of

five years’ experience in installing hi-rate filters for public swimming
pools
2. The filtration system shall be designed to comply with the published
standards of the State Board of Health as they apply to material and
services furnished herein.
C. WARRANTY
1. The pool filter, piping, controls and deck equipment shall be
warranted by the installer for a period on one (1) full year from date
of acceptance.
