AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CHANGE ORDER ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO. WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council a contract change order for design and engineering services for the Parks Office remodel, between the City of Aspen and Otak, Inc., a true and accurate copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "B"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, That the City Council of the City of Aspen hereby approves that Change Order for design and engineering services for the Parks Office remodel, between the City of Aspen and Otak, Inc., a copy of which is annexed hereto and incorporated herein, and does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Aspen. Also include agreed upon adjustments attributable to executed Construction Change Directives.) • Amendment Narrative -This amendment includes construction phase and close out services previously excluded from the executed agreement. Amendment Scope of Work Taslcs: Architecture • 1. Construction Contract Administration Otalc will administer the construction contract by reviewing submittals, responding to Requests for Information from the Contractor, and observing the construction of the project in the field. This phase will culminate with the project being issued a certificate of substantial completion as well as a final verification of the construction of the project. As the primary consultant, Otak will coordinate and manage the design team and act as liaison between the design team and any Owner or Client vendors, consultants, or other entities. See attached Exhibit A for construction phase MEP services provided by WSP. Architecture 1. In -office support, including but not limited to submittal review (2 rounds), RFI response and coordination, change order review, and other requested support. A total of eight (8) hours per week on average, for 36 weeks (approximately nine months), is in included in the proposed fee. Delays to the construction schedule may result in additional fees. • 2. A total of seven (7) site visits for the observation of construction activities, up to 12 hours per instance, has been included in the contract fee. This may occur in conjunction with regular requests for payment made by the contract. A report shall be issued after each visit. • 3. The contractor shall be responsible for the creation and continued maintenance of all logs noted in the specifications, including but not limited to RFIs, change orders, and submittals, and the logs will be distributed regularly to the architect. • 4. Upon the project claim of substantial completion by the contractor, Otak shall visit site to confirm the punch list that has been prepared by the contractor. Otak will issue a final punch list based on both the contractor items as well as those additional found during the site visit. • 5. Attendance at a punch list verification walls can be provided as an additional service, upon request. Structural Engineering In -office support, including but not limited to submittal review (2 rounds), RFI response and coordination, change order review, and other support. A total of 20 hours is included in the proposed ice. Delays to the constriction schedule may result in additional fees. Project Close Out During this phase, Otak will facilitate the close out of the project through collection and review of items outlined in the project manual. Otak will assist the owner in final contract resolution and provide in -office support including but not limited to reviewing contractor provided closeout materials, as-builts, O&M manuals, and project data. This phase culminates in the final completion of the scope of work outlined in the construction contract. As the primary consultant, Otak will coordinate and manage the design team and act as liaison between the design team and any Owner or Client vendors, consultants, or other entities. The original Contract Sum was $ 285,657.00 The net change by previously authorized Change Orders $ 68,930.50 The Contract Sum prior to this Change Order was $ 354,587._50 The Contract Sum will be increased by this Change Order in the amount of $ 99,864.00 The new Contract Sum including this Change Order will be $ 454,451.50 The Contract Time will be unchanged by (0) days.
