Re: 834 W Hallam – Plan Review Comments
Dear Ryan,
The purpose of this letter is to formally document closure to the structural comments on the
plan review report for the 834 W Hallam Project, provided by The Mozingo Code Group, LLC,
dated October 12, 2021.
The report included two structural comments, which have been addressed as follows:
- S-1: Sheet S-102: At roughly grid intersection G.5-3, there is a jog in a lower bearing wall
and foundation that would no longer provide support for the framing condition shown in
section 1/S-405. Please clarify or revise support. Response: The floor joists in this
location support the wall above.
- S-2: Sheet S-402, section 9: It does not appear the cantilevered framing supporting a 2”
concrete topping has sufficient attachment to support applicable loading. Please review
and verify this condition is structurally stable. Response: Detail did not properly reflect
the framing plan, which indicates that the interior LVL’s cantilever out for the short
deck. Field condition was constructed per plan.
