Review/Report is based on structural Construction Documents prepared by KL&A, Inc., dated
02/07/2018 (Permit Set) and architectural drawings prepared by Charles Cunniffe Architects,
dated 02/07/2018 and received via electronic transfer on 03/13/2018. Structural drawings are
stamped and signed by the engineer of record.

Project Location: 425 Rio Grande Place, Aspen, CO 81611
Review based on International Building Code (IBC) Edition: 2015
Building Construction Type: New City Offices. Structure consists of a four-level steel framed
structure with a slab on grade lower level. Foundation system is concrete foundation walls and
footings. Lateral system consists of steel braced frames and moment resisting frames.

Risk Category: III (IBC 2015 Table 1604.5)
Basic Wind Speed: 120 mph (ultimate)

Structural Review Comments:
1. Sheet S0.1 General Notes: Revise the risk category to III, based on the code reviewer
comments. This will affect lateral loads/structural calculations.

2. Sheet S2.6 Lower Level Partial Foundation Plan – Area A: Provide Calculations verifying
foundation uplift has been considered at braced frame on grid A and at two locations on
grid 11.
3. Sheet S2.6 Lower Level Partial Foundation Plan – Area A: Provide Calculations verifying
bearing pressure interaction is acceptable structurally at the two footings near grids B-1.
4. Sheet S2.7 Lower Level Partial Foundation Plan – Area B: Provide Calculations verifying
