It has been brought to our attention that the City of Aspen wants to ensure that this glass landing
complies with ASTM E 2751 per the 2015 IBC 2409. The glass landing is shown in Details
21/S3.2 and 22/S3.2.
The glass was designed following the NCSEA’s ‘Engineering Structural Glass Design Guide’ to
meet all requirements of ASTM E2751 and IBC 2409.1. As noted, all three glass layers shall be
tempered and a min. 10mm thick with 1.5mm SentryGlas interlayers as manufactured be Kuaray
America, Inc. The three glass layers are designed to withstand the full loads with one layer broken,
therefore no specialized load testing is required.
