ZONING: The proposed mailbox lighting is not
compliant with code. Per Land Use Code Section
26.510.070, Sign Illumination, "Allowed Illumination.
Illumination of signs shall be designed, located,
directed and shielded in such a manner that the light
source is fixed and is not directly visible from and does
not cast glare or direct light upon any adjacent
property, public right-of-way, or motorist's vision.
Illumination shall comply with Section 26.575.150,
Outdoor lighting... Backlit signs shall be
constructed of an opaque material. Illuminated
channel-letter signs are allowed if the face and
sides are constructed of an opaque material. Sign
lighting shall be controlled by a light sensor, timer, or
equivalent system in order to minimize the duration of
illumination. "
