The limited scope of work for this sampling includes select wall systems with surfacing materials. Materials were sampled to confirm or deny asbestos content. Materials are sampled using methods described in Section IV.C. of the CDPHE Regulation 8. Date of Inspection: 4.9.18 Date of Report: 4.10.18 Field Procedures and Analysis Methods: Guidelines used for the inspection were established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Guidance for Controlling Asbestos Containing Materials in Buildings, Office of Pesticides and Toxic Substances, DOC #560/5-85-024 and 40 CFR Part 763, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). Field information was organized as per the AHERA concept of Homogeneous Area. A Homogeneous Area is defined as a suspect material of similar age, appearance, function and texture. Each material was grouped together as a specific Homogeneous Area, sampled and then assessed for condition. Bulk samples of suspect ACM were analyzed by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). Scope of work: Materials to be disturbed during renovation of the home were bulk sampled to confirm or deny 04/20/2018 11 Duroux Lane Basalt, CO 81621 p. (970) 927-3600 www.helpers.solutions asbestos content. Materials were sampled and inventoried for quantity, condition, and friability. Materials examined include: Interior Wall Systems – Drywall and Textures Homogeneous Areas: S1 – 5 // Heavy Spray Texture Wall System ( Surfacing Material + Miscellaneous Material ) Sample Locations: S1 // behind outlet cover north wall S2 // righthand window on north wall S3 // behind left hand outlet cover east wall S4 // left hand window on east wall S5 // behind right hand outlet cover east wall Please see sketch for reference to sample locations. Conclusions: Laboratory analysis confirms that sample set S1 – 5 is non-detect for asbestos There is approximately 600 square feet of this material present in the area to be disturbed by the renovation. It is in good condition and non-friable. This material has a low potential for disturbance unless the renovation occurs. These materials can be removed following general demolition procedures. No ACM is present in these wall systems. If more materials are to be affected and removed that are suspect ACM or ACBM which were not sampled - work must cease, and further sampling must occur.
