1. Where micorpiles are not
used, what technique will be
used?
2. How will utilities be
accomodated through the
micropile walls?
3. Show the surcharge restriction
areas on the plans.

TRANS-FORMER
If this transformer
required an upgrade,
City standards
require the upgrade
to be located out of
the ROW on the
projects property. Is
this transformer out
of the ROW? Will
there be room to
upgrade if
necessary?
RJ Engineering responses:
1. Temporary slopes
2. See Sheet Grade-2, Note 2
3. See Sheet Grade-2
The Hydrotech extensive media contains
3-8% organic material. The remaining
gradation requirements are specified by
Hydrotech (see attached spec sheet).
Ron stated to team members that he has
signed off on the permit.
We have updated the Appendix using the
URMP section identified. The Hydrotech
spec sheet gives a soil gradation that is
90% sand and larger free draining material.

Appendix F—Green Roof Information
Green roof storage calculation:
Volume per Hydrotech Gardendrain GR15 information sheet: 0.163 in / square foot

PR:2A 767.39 10.42
PR:2B 455.99 6.19
PR:3 1744.03 23.69
Green roof storage calculation per the URMP:
Volume per URMP equation found on page 8-69, item number 2:
Volume=Depth of Material * (%Sand) * 0.3 / 0.255
We believe there is an error in the equation. We believe the author’s intent was to calculate the void area
of the extensive mix and solve for a unit volume and then apply the unit volume to the roof area.
We solve the following equation:
Volume (cf) =Depth of Material * (%Sand) *0.3 * Green Roof Area (sf)
Therefore, the unit volume= 3” * 90%*0.3=0.810 in/square foot.
The table below solves the available volume for each of the roofs.
