On September 4th,2020,David Coon,Aspen City Forester inspected trees at 630 W Hopkins Ave.being requested for removal per the Tree Removal&Preservation Plan L2.00 dated 10/12/20.Trees to be retained will be preserved and protected per the above referenced sheet and per the specifications attached to this permit. The trees approved for removal have been assigned a value using a standard formula developed for all trees found within the City of Aspen.The formula is as follows: Value=$45.00 x 3.14 x(D/2)2,where D is the diameter of the tree at breast height.Per the Tree Removal&Preservation Plan L2.00 dated 10/12/20,the total mitigation value assessed for the trees to be removed is$5,723.00.This amount will be offset by the planting of(4)3"aspen and(1)8'native serviceberry on the property and(1)narrowleaf cottonwood in the city right-of-way per the Planting Plan L5.00 dated 10/12/20 at a cost of$4,700.00.The total/net mitigation owed is thus $1,023.00 which must be paid cash in lieu prior to the release of this permit.
