We previously conducted a percolation test for the drywell design and presented our findings in a report dated February 13, 2020, Project No. 20-7-128. The drywell casing will be 6 feet in diameter and located about 4 feet from the north side of the building about 35 feet east of where we drilled the exploratory boring and conducted the percolation test. The soils encountered consist of sandy gravel, cobbles and boulders to the drilled depth of 11 feet. The measured percolation rate of about 2 minute per inch indicates a relatively free draining soil. In our opinion, the flow from the drywell will be radially out and down and not affect the dense, coarse granular soils assumed as the foundation support material. The drywell should be carefully built and backfilled to not undermine the footing bearing soils. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our office.
