We have multiple locations where security gates are utilized to secure building areas while not in operation and when access through the spaces is required for the existing egress requirements. - In Restaurant 201-1, Gate G201a closes off the restaurant space while allowing egress from Hall 220 to door (E)2-4. - In Restaurant 202-1, Gates G202a and G202b close of the restaurant space while allowing egress from Hall 220 to door(E)2-4. - In Back Bar 201-2, Door 201b has been replaced with a security gate G201 b to allow for ease of access for restaurant staff during hours of operation. - Between the kitchen hall and Kitchen 200-1, Door 200a has been replaced with security gate G200a to allow for ease of access for restaurant staff during hours of operation. - Between the kitchen hall and Plating 200-0, Door 200b has been replaced with security gate G200b to allow for ease of access for restaurant staff during hours of operation. As discussed with Nick and Denis, these gates are only to be closed when the restaurant is not occupied or in operation. It is only to secure the areas and allow for the safe egress of the building. Per 2015 IBC Section 1010.1.9.3, Item 2, these security gate locations are at Group A Occupancies of 300 occupants or less. The locking devices will be clearly distinguishable as locked and a sign will be placed on or adjacent to the security gates stating "THIS GATE TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN THIS SPACE IS OCCUPIED."
