Hopkins Aspen Residence Dear Joseph, This document is intended to show compliance of the remodel of the residence located at 634 W Hopkins, Aspen, CO with the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (2015 IECC). We propose to use a prescriptive approach (U-factor alternative) per sections 402.1-402.3 and 403.2.1 of the 2015 IECC. Project The project at 634 W Hopkins is the remodel of a residence with a floor area of 4,850 sf. The heat load calculations are performed using the Carrier Hourly Analysis Program and provides a more detailed and accurate load than Manual J. Building Envelope The following table lists the mandatory minimum insulation and fenestration requirements for the project climate zone (7). All new assemblies will meet the following requirements.
