Hopkins Ave (Lift One Sales Center) MEP Permit Review Comments BG Project #9649.03 Esther, BG Buildingworks, Inc. (BG) has provided responses to the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical permit review comments completed by the City of Aspen for the 453 E. Hopkins project in Aspen, CO. The following outlines the City’s comment followed by BG responses: 30.Special Inspection Agreement: What work requires special inspection? BG Response: None for MEP. 90.Architectural Plans: Controls for kitchen hood must be within accessible reach range. BG Response: Controls within reach have been added to the plans. 90.Electrical Plans: Specifically demonstrate compliance with the provisions of 2015 IECC C405, including: -Provide both interior and exterior lighting Comchecks; coordinated with lighting plans, schedule, and cutsheets. -Provide cutsheets for each fixture. Highlight the maximum fixture wattage (not the wattage of the lamp you intend to use but the maximum that the fixture is labeled for) and highlight the listing by a nationally recognized testing lab. -All fixtures must be specified; no "TBD." -Revise lighting plans to show all lighting control requirements including: -Occupant sensor controls -Time switch controls -Light-reduction controls -Daylight-responsive controls -Exterior lighting controls BG Response: Plan sheet E-101.00 illustrates occupant sensor controls, daylight responsive controls, daylight zones as well as time switch controls, see flag notes for additional details. See sheet E.300.00 for lighting control panel information including dimming zones on keypads, vacancy sensors, timeclock and photocell as well as their corresponding dimming information. Lighting Control Devices schedule note vacancy sensor information as well as a sequence of operations per IECC 2015. Light fixture schedules are also available on E.300.00 and have been updated to note custom listed socket wattage not lamp wattage. Custom portable table lamps are shown in the fixture schedule for reference only, portable fixtures are not included in Comcheck. Comcheck for interior is available on E-301.00, and has been updated to match the new lighting layout. There is no exterior scope of work on this project as it is a tenant finish, therefore no Exterior Comcheck. 07/24/2023 Lift One Sales Center July 10, 2023 Page - 2 – www.bgbuildingworks.com Cut sheets have been provided as a supplemental package and have been highlighted to note a maximum fixture wattage and national testing lab certification. All custom fixture specifications and testing certification to be submitted as a deferred submittal prior to inspection. Narrative of lighting changes: 1. L3 drapery pocket linear has been removed from Rooms 101, 102 and 106. 2. L3 under counter fixture in Office 104 has been removed. 3. L3 in Storage 107, length has been removed. 4. L11 has been added in Kitchen 106. 5. Decorative fixture type tags have been revised. 6. Sheet 300.00, the Distributed Networked System Lighting Control panel zoning and notes have been revised to accommodate the above changes. The Luminaire schedule has been updated to note revised fixture types. 7. Sheet 301.00, the Comcheck report has been updated to reflect the above changes. 90.Mechanical and Plumbing Plans: You have calculated the amount of outside air required but have not provided any outside air on the plans. Revise to provide outdoor air. 2015 IMC 403.2 BG Response: There is an existing OSA duct to the existing HVAC system; this was not clearly noted in the documents, however it is now noted to remain/be balanced to noted ventilation rates. Sincerely, Erin Pasold, PE Project Manager 07/24/2023
