Dear City of Aspen Parks & Open Space Permit Coordinator David Radeck,
Please consider our responses below and associated attachments to the Zoning Review
Comments received on Friday April 1st, 2022.
1. Submit for tree removal permit.
SH Built has submitted for a required tree removal permit.
2. Tree protection fencing at actual dripline of tree required. Air spading may be required as
well as a mulch bed depending on extents of activity within the tree dripline.

spading and mulch bedding as required based on activity within the tree driplines.

4. Will this wall be within the dripline of the trees? If so, a discussion with the City Forester
will need to happen to determine best practice to minimize impacts to trees and an
acknowledgement of his approval will be required.
There is no longer a wall in this location. There are two wood posts supporting a patio
cover. This shelter is not within the dripline of the existing cottonwood tree at the
northeast corner of the property. This tree is leaning into the lot line with approximately a
2'-0" dripline above the railroad tie retaining wall that is to remain. See sheet A007 for
revised existing tree locations based on site verification.

canopy for roof and gutter.
SH Built is working with a City Forester to receive approval for encroachment into the
tree canopy for roof and gutter. See sheet A007 for revised existing tree locations based
on site verification.
