REPORT PREPARED BY: ~I(_-~fohn R.Peterman Inspector Manager COLORADO Certificate No.6601 COLORADO Registration #ACF-16522 2 07/14/2020 A &D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R.Peterman Asbestos Testing and Consulting INTRODUCTION: On July 16,2007 and August 29,2019 an inspection/survey was conducted and 13 bulk samples were collected from: Residence 334 McSkimming Rd. Aspen,Co. The purpose of the inspections/survey was to locate and sample suspected Asbestos containing materials that might be present in the Residence that is planned for demolition. The inspection was made,and the samples were collected by John R. Peterman,an A.H.E.R.A.and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector.Great care was taken during the inspections and sampling to be as accurate as possible. All samples were analyzed by DCM Science Lab in Wheat Ridge, CO.This laboratory is deemed "Proficient"in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance (QA)program for the determination of asbestos in bulk materials,and is accredited by the American Hygiene Association (AHA). SAMPLING PROTOCOL: A random sampling scheme was used to sample the suspect materials that were discovered.If during any future demolition or renovation work, suspect material is discovered that hasn't been sampled and would be disturbed,work should be halted until the material has been tested. 3 07/14/2020 A &D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R.Peterman Asbestos Testing and Consulting Residence 334 McSkimming Rd. Aspen,Co. BUILDING DESCRIPTION: The Residence at 334 McSkimming Rd.is a single story building that is planned for demolition.The roof is covered rubber roofing,the soffits are exposed wood and plywood.The exterior walls are covered with wood siding over plastic sheeting.The interior walls are covered in sheetrock with no texture.The ceiling is covered with sheetrock like the walls and exposed "wood ill some closets.The floor is covered in wood laminate on plastic sheeting,carpet,two types of sheet flooring and vinyl floor tiles and mastic. There are ceramic tiles on some of the bathroom walls.The heating is provided by a forced air system and a fireplace.No suspect materials were visible on the heating system. CONCLUSIONS &RECOMMENDATIONS: Laboratory analysis of the bulk samples indicates that Asbestos was detected in four out of five of the sheetrock samples and the non-friable vinyl floor tiles under the carpet in the master bedroom area.The positive sheetrock mud samples contain Asbestos that is less than the Regulatory Limit (Greater than 1%Asbestos).The Asbestos content of the sheetrock mud was verified by the required Point Count Analysis.The Asbestos content of the non-friable vinyl floor tiles is in excess of the Regulatory Limit.The non- 4 07/14/2020 friable floor tiles can remain in place for demolition provided the floor tile is not rendered friable by the demolition process.If the non-friable vinyl floor tiles will be rendered friable by the demolition process the floor tiles must be removed as per Colorado reg.#8 prior to the demolition of the building.No Asbestos was detected in any of the remaining bulk samples collected. 5 07/14/2020 Date:September 10,2019 Location:Residence 334 McSkimming Rd.Aspen,Co.
