It should be known that this review shall
not relieve the applicant of their
responsibility to comply with the
requirements of the City of Aspen
Municipal Code. Pursuant to
Sec.26.104.050, any permit or approval
issued in error or otherwise not in
conformity with the requirements of this
Title, shall be void. Similarly, any permit
or approval issued in reliance upon or
as a result of, a materially false
statement or representation made in
the process of obtaining the permit or
development approval shall, likewise,
be void. Any person having received a
void or voidable permit or approval
shall not be relieved from having to
comply with all applicable terms and
conditions of this Title and the City shall
not be estopped from fully enforcing
same.

4.8 Reroofing:
Prior to application of the shingles, the existing roof
covering and underlayment must be completely removed.
Any damaged sheathing must be replaced. The installation
of the shingles must then proceed as described in
Sections 4.1 through 4.5. An existing self-adhered ice
barrier membrane may remain in place if covered with a
new ice barrier membrane in accordance with the
applicable code. The roof classification is as noted in
Section 4.6 and Table 1.
5.0 CONDITIONS OF USE
The DaVinci Slate, DaVinci Shake, Bellaforté Shake, and
Bellaforté Slate roof shingles described in this report
comply with, or are suitable alternatives to what is
specified in, those codes listed in Section 1.0 of this report,
subject to the following conditions:
5.1 Installation must comply with the applicable code, the
manufacturer’s published installation instructions and
this report. In the event of a conflict between this
report and the manufacturer’s published installation
instructions, this report governs.
5.2 The roof shingles are manufactured in Lenexa,
Kansas, under a quality-control program with
inspections by ICC-ES.
6.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED
Data in accordance with the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria
for Special Roofing Systems (AC07), dated February 2014
(editorially revised May 2016).
7.0 IDENTIFICATION
7.1 Each roof shingle is labeled with the report holder’s
name (DaVinci Roofscapes, LLC) and address, the
product name, the shingle width, a production date
code, and the ICC-ES evaluation report number
(ESR-2119).

MID-ROOF AND FINAL

Mid-Roof Inspection
REQUIRED
After your roof permit is issued,
and you have started work, you
must request a mid-roof
inspection.
Inspectors will verify your Class
A assembly on site.
You will request inspection
directly on SalesForce.
Final Roof Inspection
REQUIRED
Once roof work is complete, you
must request a final roof
inspection.
Inspectors will inspect snow
guards and heat tape (if
applicable).
NOTE: If there is heat tape
present, a final roof inspection
cannot be requested until the
sub-electrical permit is applied
for as both final inspections will
occur simultaneously.

where roofs could shed snow onto
walkways, stairs, alleys, decks, exits,
utilities and meters, emergency escape
and rescue opening window wells, or
adjacent properties - Ordinance 1,
2023.
NOTE: You many not substitute roofing components/products that stray
from the approved and issued ESR/QAI report without Building
department approval.
Class A assemblies are tested and listed with the specific roof products
called out in the associated documentation. Installers shall follow all
manufacturer's installation instructions for Class A roof assembly.
Work on heat tape is not permitted under this
scope. If any existing heat tape is touched or new
heat tape is purposed it will be exempt to REMP
and heat tape control requirements and will
require a sub-electrical permit.

HEAT TAPE MANDATORY CONTROL REQ’S.
All heat tape systems shall meet the following per (Ordinance 1 Series 2023):
-Automatic controls configured for system shut off when air temperature is above
40°F and comply with one of the following:
-shut off in absence of moisture
-shut off at night (daylight sensor or timer)
SUB-ELECTRICAL PERMIT REQUIRED FOR HEAT
TAPE
A sub-electrical permit is required if a heat tape system is present, no matter the
total wattage. A licensed electrician must apply for the permit.
The sub-electrical permit must be applied for prior to the final roof inspection as
both final inspections will occur simultaneously.
