Observed construction appeared to be in general conformance of the construction documents with the exception of the following which were discussed while on site: Item 1: The decision was made (by others) to not alter the roof framing or bearing wall location at the kitchen. Therefore, these conditions are considered as existing and historic load path is maintained without the need to revise rafter or ridge member sizes. Item 2: The entry way floor had been reframed. The entry floor was framed such that it is bearing on the existing floor slab and the existing foundation wall. Photos were provided to illustrate the framing process. The work appeared to be acceptable. Item 3: The stairway had been reframed in its existing configuration and location. The new stair was wood framed and mostly available to view while on site. Framing appeared to be acceptable. Item 4: The builder requested an alternate connection between the wood column to wood beam at the exterior entry porch as indicated in Detail 2/S531. This connection may be achieved using Simpson APA6 each side of column or Simpson APT6 each side of beam. Item 5: The builder requested an option to use a big foot pier and footing system as opposed to the two-pour footing and pier system indicated on the structural drawings. This is acceptable using a 24” diameter big foot and 10” tube. Provide reinforcement per Detail 1/S531. Item 6: The base of the wood column at the exterior entry porch may be attached to the pier per attached Clarification C2.1. cc: Joel Harries jharries@galambosarchitects.net The above represents our report of events noted and items discussed and will be relied upon as true and correct by all parties unless notified within (5) working days of receipt.
