Sam had discussed that with the CBO previously and you're all set to propose that in your change order. I didn't include ny information for the new door because it will meet the requirements of the permit. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. Can you get anything from Pella that gives a U value for door you'd like to re-use? Thanks, Justin Hahn Builder of the Day 970-429-2735 City of Aspen Building Department 427 Rio Grande PI. Part of this included re-using a sliding glass door that rilt RV' the house instead of buying a new one. 08/24/2023 ASPEN BUILDING DEPARTMENT Since that string of emails I have received and attached an updated document from Pella showing the U-Factor of the existing door since they are still manufacturing and selling it in other areas. I would like to confirm that we can still re-use this door before submitting the change order. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. I will run it by Bonnie to see what she says. I didn't see a U-factor for the door on the cutsheet, but after having talked to Bonnie about this yesterday, I think you should be ok.When you get the door out,if there is a NFRC sticker with the U-factor,we would like to see what that says, but I will confirm with her after sending this over to her to take a look. I will be in touch as soon as I hear back from her. Thanks, Sam Builder of the Day 970-429-2735 City of Aspen Building Department 427 Rio Grande PI. The address is 105 W. Hyman and I believe the permit would have been issued in 2010. First off,it is more than likely that the door you would like to reuse is larger(width)that the window it is replacing. Therefore, it is likely that we would require updated structurals for the new opening that will house this sliding door.Along with that,we will need to see the landing both inside and out to make sure it is compliant. If this door was installed around 2010,there is a chance we have information in the address file from that permit. While I cannot say for sure whether we will allow this to be reused in a different location,in the past,we have allowed for doors/windows that are close to compliant and in good repair,to be reused in remodel projects. If you can tell me what the address is and if possible the old permit number, I would be happy to dig in to our records to see if we have any information on the existing door. After that, I can take this to our CBO(I spoke with Bonnie about this today, and she is who told me that it is possible to reuse), and see what her determination would be.Thank you and please let me know if you have any further questions.
