When these two boards are used directly below the Sure-Weld membrane, the slope is limited to max. 1/2:12. 5When these systems are used for reroofing or recovering, installation must be in accordance with Sections 4.2.2 and 5.7 of this report, and 2021 IBC Section 1512, 2018 and 2015 IBC Section 1511 [2012 and 2009 IBC Section 1510], 2021, 2018 and 2015 IRC Section R908 [2012 and 2009 IRC Section R907], as applicable. 04/02/2024 James Jackson Romeo, PE Structural Design Consultant, LLC 246 Pinon Drive Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Phone/Fax: 970-945-4742 Email: jim@jjrstructural.com March 20, 2024 Ute Creek Condominiums Re: Ute Creek Condominiums 1116 Waters Avenue Roof Capacity Aspen, CO Attn: Ann O’Brien Project No: 24007 Ann: The existing roof of the condominium building at 1116 Waters Avenue in Aspen does not have the capacity to support additional snow load. Improving roof insulation would require the roof to support 75 psf snow load. The 15 ft long 6x12 roof beams at 6 ft on center over the Living/Dining Room only has the capacity to support 35 psf snow load and the 16’-9” long 4x12 roof ridge beam over the Bedroom only has the capacity to support 10 psf snow load. This tells me that the existing roof has only been performing adequately since 1969-1970 because the less than adequate roof insulation is causing the roof snow to melt. I recommend that no roof insulation improvements be performed on this building unless the roof snow load capacity and roof framing is improved. Please call if you have any questions. James J.
