HEALTHSAFE CONCLUSIONS • There is 2% - 3% Chrysotile asbestos in a bituminous felt material used as the ridge cap shingles. This material is currently nonfriable and should remain so during demolition and disposal. • There is NO asbestos in 30 of the suspect building material samples of 10 homogeneous building materials slated for 5D. NO asbestos abatement will be required for any of these building materials. All building waste and debris can be disposed of in any landfill which accepts normal, non-hazardous building waste. See EPA 40 CFR 763.121 Worker Protection Rule, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 Respirator Applicant has stated: areas where asbestos is present (ridge cap shingles) shall not be disturbed under this scope as the owner will apply for a separate roof permit at another time.
