Hi All,
I took the proposed amendments for B-Game Phase III to staff today and got posi5ve feedback on all items.
Staff feels all changes are within the insubstan5al amendment allowances, to summarize our discussion:
1. No concerns with grading, as long as engineering is sa5sfied.
2. Boulder wall/gabion wall approach was well received. Staff comments deferred to building (structural)
and engineering. As long as those two agencies have the details they need, we can document changes
through building permit/change orders.
3. Water u5lity rooms change design approach confirmed, again, just make sure you comply with
dimensional limita5ons for each building
4. Privacy screens concept wasn’t viewed as adding bulk to the buildings and could be approved through
this admin process. We’ll need plans for all buildings to document and confirm. There may be some
discussion about specific areas once we have the full plan if some high visibility areas have an impact
on massing, but generally this was not a concern.
5. Architectural Detailing – understand the change, suppor5ve of direc5on, but wanted to see if there
were design alterna5ves that could mimic original architecture more closely. The two concerns
expressed were that the steel was more slender than the bulkier wood posts and beams and there was
significantly less wood detail with the steel. As is, we would approve it but if there are ways to bring
the proposed altera5ons closer to the original look and feel staff supports moving in that direc5on.
Denis was in the mee5ng but I didn’t discuss any of the accessibility items so that conversa5on should
happen prior to submi`ng for land use. Once that is ironed out, and engineering is in a good place, it seems
like we’re in good shape for the land use applica5on. Let me know if you have any follow up ques5ons or
would like to jump on a call to discuss.
Thanks,
GarreG
