Design a new platform to support battery equipment on the roof of an existing building. Roof framed with wood, but steel columns.
New frame to span to the existing steel columns.
A RISA 3D model was created to
design the main framing members.
Live load is for (2) 1,000 lb. electrical units.
Snow load is 100 psf pg converted
to a roof Pf of 100 psf
See attached output.
Max Main beam connection shear load
is 5.8 kips factored
Max minor joist factored load is 2.3 kips
Capacity of a 3" fillet weld is 12.53 kips
OK for all connections.
