Special inspection provided to verify field welding performed to attach handrail to embeds at the East and West
side entrance foundation plan as shown in detail 31 S1.4 by DB Structural Engineers
at the request of the City of Aspen Building Department. All welding measures at 1/4" + fillet welds around all steel
handrail elements attaching railing to stainless embeds at concrete slab 1 steps (placed by others) by certified
welder using approved materials in accordance with AWS specifications.
Observed assembly appears to fully comply with approved plans and applicable codes.
No problems noted.
