REGULAR MEETING COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION OCTOBER 1, 2025
Chairperson Wang opened the meeting at 8:40 a.m.
Present were Angi Wang, Stephanie Davis, Amanda Tanaka, Kiki Raj. Absent were Jeb Ball, Charles
Cunniffe, Terry Butler and Noemi Kiss-Baldwin.
Staff present were Nicole Henning, City Clerk and Emmy Oliver, Downtown Services
COMMISSIONER BUSINESS UPDATES:
Ms. Raj said galleries around the world are closing everywhere. Aspen is doing fine so far. We are
worried but it’s going ok so far.
Ms. Davis entered the meeting at 8:39.
Ms. Henning mentioned Bill Dinsmoor’s passing and said the Mayor reached out to her for some history.
Mayor Richards held a moment of silence for Bill at the previous night’s meeting.
Ms. Wang said she will give the retail updates. She said Sway and Hai Si closed as well as Mi Chola.
For the off-season restaurants will start closing early October but some are staggering days.
Caribou is having Wednesday night themed dinners for off-season.
Jack Sutton on Hopkins closed because they have the location on Cooper. Alicia Adams Alpaca is closing
as well but has a space at the Nell. Mawa is having an opening this weekend in Boulder. Dior is gorgeous
and they are doing fantastic. Moncler is opening where Marcus used to be and is the Grenoble side.
Chanel is opening on Hyman.
Ms. Davis asked when Kathy is planning to come for market recap. Ms. Henning said November 5th.
Ms. Oliver mentioned the New Business Toolkit but said she will talk more in depth at the next meeting.
She handed out a copy to each member.
Ms. Davis said it’s concise and contains a lot of good information – it’s quite good!
Ms. Oliver said they are planning to put this online as well but haven’t figured out where yet.
Ms. Wang said the city website isn’t great.
Ms. Oliver wondered about the CCLC page. Ms. Henning said to send it to her, and she will add it to their
page.
Ms. Tanaka has an Aspen Theater meeting and will update everyone on the construction schedule. She
also spoke about a girl on Tik Tok doing Aspen posts and showing Aspen in a professional light.
Ms. Oliver said she will speak with parking and see if they can come give an update at some point.
Ms. Wang motioned to adjourn; Ms. Davis seconded at 9:15 a.m.
