HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil_HH notesCouncil: 10/10 Notes for St. Regis Slide 4: • The second component of the request by the St. Regis is to install and maintain fencing which was built without a permit that exceeds height limitations as required per underlying zoning along Monarch Street and “June -ee-aat-ah” Street to deter animal and human trespass. • Per the land use code, fences located between buildings and streets shall not be taller than 42 inches in height. • Fences may be 6 feet in height when located on a non-street-facing side or rear yard setback that is fully recessed behind the vertical plane of the building ’s facade which is closest to the Street. • The current locations of the request would only allow the fence to be built 42 inches in height per underlying zoning as the fence is street facing. • The Applicant seeks a variation from this standard to erect and maintain fencing ranging in height from 6 feet to 10 feet. • The image on the right is a summary of the requests of fence and gate heights along the two streets • The image on the left shows the fencing that was erected without a permit compared with the existing gate and retaining wall height. Slide 5: • Staff recommends City Council approve Ordinance #18 Series of 2023 on First Reading and set a public hearing for second reading on October 30, 2023 • At this time we would like to ask Council if there are any questions they would like for staff to respond to at Second Reading.
