Hello Carrie,
I am sorry about how long this particular window review application has taken. Because this is part
of the historic resource, we had to do additional research related to the historic windows.
As your team confirmed, the historic windows are not longer in place, however, we found historic
photographs of the resource which shows the historic window style/type that was in place and will
require its restoration. Specifically, the two windows on the third floor facing Main Street appear to
be 8 over 1, multi-paned fixed windows. Using historic imagery, we need to identify and restore the
windows in the historic portion of the home for this application. According to our analysis, 12 of the
17 windows appear to be historic openings in the resource:
2nd Floor: 201, 202, 204 (east elevation), 203 (irregular size opening in historic home, south
elevation), and 205, 206 (south, front elevation)
3rd Floor: 301, 303 (north, rear elevation), 302, 304 (east elevation), 305 and the other window not
numbered (south, front elevation).
In addition, please provide additional cut sheets showing the dimensions of the window rails and
stiles to make sure that what is going in the historic building is similar in proportion to a historic
window, and the profile should be traditional, with squared, not rounded edges. The multi-paned
windows need to be true divided lights.
Again, I am very sorry for the delay, and I will make myself available to answer any questions and
provide assistance.
Thank you,
-Sarah-
