HomeMy WebLinkAboutdraft summary_1.3.18Hello Lift 1 team,
Thank you again for meeting this week to discuss the phase 2 scope of work for the Lift 1A study. Below
are the notes from the City, which we will share with Chris Cushing to verify that the commentary on the
proposed scope will be incorporated and updated. Please provide any comments you may have so that
these notes can be as accurate as possible.
1/3/2018 Lift 1A Stakeholder Meeting
Attendees
• City of Aspen: Jennifer Phelan, Jessica Garrow
• ASC: David Corbin
• Lift One Lodge: Michael Brown, Aaron Brown, Stan Clauson
• Gorsuch Haus: Jim DeFrancia, Richard Shaw, Bryan Peterson
Scope
• The physical planning attributes listed for Tasks 1, 2 and 3 are adequate in scope.
• SkiCo preference, in order, is: for 1) telemix with clockwise unload, 2) gondola, 3) chairlift;
however, the study should recommend what is appropriate based on locational feasibility and
compatibility with hotels.
• Task 3, with the qualitative concerns noted by some parties, does not need the 3-d analysis, it
should be more of a threshold analysis with some graphics looking at the footprint of the
terminal, grading plan, as well as upslope/downslope review. The circulation movement need to
be shown (for example how you access Gorsuch Haus/as well as skier return)
• As there may be differences between the minimum physical design of an option compared to a
qualitative preference, are there examples that the consultants are aware that may have similar
constraints that may provide a comparison of how the solution has worked well or not.
• No pulse gondola will be studied.
• Work-product. Ensure that any 3-d modelling is city work product so that any stakeholder
changes can be dropped in.
Follow-up
• Staff is targeting a January 16th work session to finalize the scope and approval of expenditure of
funds with council. Gorsuch Haus and SkiCo have agreed to the commitment of funds.
