WALK-IN COOLERS AND FREEZERS

Arctic Industries, LLC is in compliance with the following industry regulations:
• National Sanitation Foundation Standard for Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers (NSF 7/ANSI 7:2016)
• Underwriters Laboratory Standard for Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers (UL 471:2010 Ed.10)
• ASTM Standard for Building Materials with Surface Burn Characteristics Foam Plastic Insulation (ASTM
E84:2019a, UL 723:2018 Ed.11)
• International Building Code (IBC)
• Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA)
• Department of Energy listed in CCMS database
• State of Oregon
• City of Houston
• Miami-Dade County Outdoor NOA approval is available when requested
The foam used in Arctic panels is CFC and HCFC free and complies with IBC Chapter 26. Section 2603.4.1.2 is
satisfied when used with automatic sprinklers (by others) and a thermal barrier is not required. Without
sprinklers, 2603.4.1.3 is satisfied with 4" panel construction on a unit that does not exceed 400 square feet
with a thermal barrier (by others).
Our foam has been tested to ASTM E84(UL 723) as follows:

Foam will be covered by a minimum thickness of.032-inch aluminum or corrosive resistant steel having a
thickness of not less than .0160 inch at any point.
R-Values are as follows:
• at 55°F (4"thick panels): 29
• at 20°F (4"thick panels): 32

Additionally, we are in compliance with the 2015 International energy Conservation Code (IECC C403.2.16)
Walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers: Site-assembled or site-constructed walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers.
As these are site-assembled walk-ins, Section C403.2.15 does not apply.
1 -Automatic door closers shall be provided that will fully close walk-in doors that have been closed to within
1 inch (25mm) of full closure.
2 - Doorways shall be provided with cam-lift hinges.
3 - Insulation for cooler walls, ceilings and doors shall have a thermal resistance of R-28, exceeding IECC
requirement of not less than R-25.
4 - Insulation for freezer floors shall have a thermal resistance of R-28 or greater.
5 & 6 - Not Applicable to this project. No transparent doors.
7 - Evaporator fans will be provided with EC Motors.
8 - Condenser fans will be supplied with PSC motors.
9 & 10 - Not Applicable, no glass doors/antisweat heaters.
11 - Light sources provided by Arctic will be LED and have an efficacy of not less than 40 lumens per Watt.
