On 8/5/20, David Coon, Aspen City Forester, performed an inspection of trees being requested for removal at 855 Chatfield Rd. per the tree removal and protection plan, sheet LS-2.2 dated 6/26/2020. Trees to be retained will be protected per the tree removal and protection plan, sheet LS-2.2 dated 6/26/2020 and the specifications attached to this permit. The trees approved for removal have been assigned a value using a standard formula developed for all trees found within the City of Aspen. The formula is as follows: Value=$45.00 x 3.14 x (D/2)2, where D is the diameter of the tree at breast height. The total mitigation value assessed for the trees to be removed is $12,364. This amount will be offset by the planting of trees per the planting plan sheet LS-2.3 dated 6/26/2020 and the Creative Nature Landscape Construction LLC Estimate dated 6/26/2020 at a cost of $17,000. Net mitigation due is $0.00. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF THIS PERMIT: Trees may not be removed until the associated building permit has been issued and up-to-date stamped tree permit submittal documents have been approved by the City Forester and stamped by the Building Dept.
