With these steps there are different speed fan taps associated to select correct air flow. For meeting the site requirement / conditions, make sure the external static pressure and air flow are determined. Plot the external static pressure and air flow on the below graph to determine the right speed fan step setting. For example : Job site requirement is to deliver 400 CFM at 0.4 in.WG external static pressure. Using the below graph, external static pressure on vertical axis and air flow on horizontal axis, the star mark indicates the job site requirement. The star mark is below 0.6 in.WG high speed fan tap line, which means the unit needs to be set to 0.6 in.WG external static pressure with high speed fan tap. Water conductivity is measured in micro Siemens per centimeter (uS/cm). Mineral content, also described as “water hardness” is usually measured in grains per gallon. Because of the variety of minerals that are found in water, there is no direct correlation between water hardness and conductivity, but generally the higher the mineral content, the higher the conductivity. The Canister Steam Humidifier is designed to operate on water with conductivity between 125 and 1,250 uS/cm. This correlates loosely with water with hardness between 3 and 36 grains/gallon. Water that is considered “hard” and also softened water work well in the humidifier. The humidifier will make steam when plumbed to low-conductivity water but it takes longer to reach nominal capacity. With low conductivity water, it may take the humidifier one week or more of operation to reach rated capacity, especially if it is wired to operate on 120 volts. When operating on 240 volts, the humidifier usually will reach nominal capacity within a few hours, even with lower conductivity water. As water in the canister boils and turns into steam, minerals are left behind. Minerals remaining in solution increase the conductivity of the water. Minerals also deposit onto the submerged portions of the electrodes rendering those areas ineffective. As this occurs, the level of water in the canister rises to expose un-coated electrode surface. There are benefits and trade-offs to consider when the application allows a choice between hard and softened water: Hard water:The benefit of hard water is less frequent draining and filling than with soft water, which results in better energy and water efficiency and more consistent steam output. However, canister replacement could be more frequent with hard water, because hard water scale coats the electrodes. The harder the water, the more frequent the need for a new canister. Softened water:The benefit of softened water is longer canister life (depending on water chemistry) than with hard water, because softened water does not coat the electrodes nearly as much as hard water. However, softened water ions stay in solution to much higher concentrations than hard water ions. This requires more frequent draining and filling, which results in less energy and water efficiency and less consistent steam output. IMPORTANT The T775 is an operating control, not a limit or safety control. If used in applications requiring safety or limit controls, a separate safety or limit control device is required. Anti-integral wind-up is standard. • Reset Models With Simplified Setup Reset programming is easy. Simply enter the high and low control temperatures and the corresponding high and low outdoor temperatures. Installation Guide Differential Pressure Switches CSE-1102/1103 Mounting Select a mounting location that is free from vibration. Mount in any vertical plane in order to obtain the lowest specified operating setpoint. Avoid mounting with the sample line connections in the “up” posi- tion. Surface mount via the two 3/16" diameter holes in the integral mounting bracket. The mounting holes are 3-7/8" apart. 1. Align the unit vertically with the barbed ports at the bottom (alternately pointing to the left or right). 2. Using the two 3/16" mounting holes, attach to the ducting. 3. Using the knockout, attach a 1/2" conduit. 4. Connect wires to the screw terminals. See the Wiring section. Connecting Sensing Ports NOTE: A sampling probe should be located a minimum of 1.5 duct diameters downstream from the air source. Install the sampling probe as close to the center of the airstream as possible. NOTE: For sample lines of up to 10 feet, 1/4" OD tubing is acceptable. For lines up to 20 feet, use 1/4" ID tubing. For lines up to 60 feet, use 1/2" ID tubing. To attach a sampling line: • To a CSE-1102 with barbed connections, use 1/4 to 3/8" (6 to 9 mm) tubing for air sampling lines and connect the tubing to the appropriate port(s). • To a CSE-1103 with compression connections, connect 1/4" OD copper to the compression fitting(s). Optional HFO-001x Sensor Probe Setpoint Adjustment NOTE: To properly calibrate an air switch, a digital manometer or other measuring device should be used to confirm the actual setpoint. The adjustment range is 0.05 ±0.02 to 12.0" wc. To adjust the setpoint: 1. Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until motion has stopped. 2. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise 4 complete turns (to engage the spring). From this point, the next (up to) ten turns are used for the actual cali- bration. Each full turn represents approximately 1.2" wc. For example, 2-1/2 turns (after the initial 4 clockwise turns) equals about 3" wc (2.5 turns x 1.2" wc per turn). Before pressure is applied to the diaphragm, the SPDT switch contacts will be in the normally closed (NC) position. The snap switch has screw top ter- minals with cup washers. MOUNTING PROCEDURE Mount the HC-201 on the outside surface of the return air duct in a horizontal position where it is exposed to freely cir- culating air (other mounting positions are possible but not preferred). Remove adhesive from the back of mounting template and press template to desired mounting location on duct. 2.
