To Whom It May Concern
I have looked at the little log house at 211 West Hopkins in Aspen and I am
confident that our Company can move the house off of its original footprint
to the south while a new foundation is being built.
The method we would use to pick up the house would be to get beams
under the floor joists and jack up the beams lifting the house and then
rolling it to the south to clear the foundation dig.
Thanks - Bill Bailey

Re: 211 W. Hopkins Ave—Pan Abode Cabin
Dear John,
Regarding the Pan Abode Cabin at 211 W. Hopkins, my understanding is that the intent is to lift
the cabin and temporarily relocate it such that a new and deeper foundation may be placed in its
current location. I do not believe the cabin itself will pose any significant problems for this
process. The chimney structure may be challenging to move, but I think it is achievable.
How best to relocate the chimney along with the cabin is something that will need to be
coordinated with the house mover. If additional bracing or stabilization is required for the move,
KL&A can assist the house mover with that design.
Sincerely,
Brett McElvain, P.E.
