On 10/5/23 The Aspen City Forester assessed the trees being requested for removal at 1405 Red Butte Dr. Some of the trees were impacted during construction of and additional deck, however the trees were in poor/fair condition prior to damage and have no assessed value. The trees may be removed. In June of 2023 Rutgers Construction was discovered to be working on the site and accessing tree driplines without a tree permit as documented at a site visit on 8/22/23. Other trees on the site were found unprotected, with storage of materials in driplines, and trees were not watered during the construction project as is normally required with a tree permit. These activities are subject to fines per COA code.
