Hi Hugh,
During my site visit yesterday (Feb 14th) there were a few structural items that we discussed that
need to be addressed.
1. Sheathing on north wall
a. As noted on S2.002 and S2.003, the north exterior wall on grid 1 shall receive
sheathing on the interior side.
2. Stub post at back of fireplace steel
a. Per detail 1/S2.002, install a steel plate and a (2) 2x4 stud pack between the W4x13
fireplace support steel and the triple 9 ¼” LVL on grid B.5.
3. Blocking on main level deck
a. Per main level framing plan on S2.002, 2x8 blocking shall be installed at 24”o.c.
between east and west deck edge beams and the adjacent joists.
4. PenetraTons in (4) 9 ¼” beam on grid B for electrical
a. 1”Ø penetraTon may be made at 3”o.c., centered in the depth of the beam, within
the center third of the length of the beam.
5. Reinforcing of the level 2 joists between grids 1 and 2.
a. Where penetraTons made in joist do no conform to detail SDA-5 (permiXed notches
& holes in 2x members), the joists shall be reinforced.
b. See aXached DSA-8 for reinforcement detail.
