Dear Jeanle:~
Congratulations on being selected as one of two sculptors for the
Commercial Core and Lodging Commission's Public Art Project.
The Public Art Committee, CCLC and entire City staff are excited
about the project and is grateful for your interest in
participating.
As i mentioned during our phone conversation, the CCLC is
particularly interested in using one of your pieces in marble. We
will review your elides and select the most suitable sculpture.
We will also work with you and the City staff on selecting a
site.
Other points you might want to keep in mind about the CCLC Public
Art Project:
--Your fee is $1,500, which includes materials and installation.
--Installation. must be completed by July 15. The sculpture will
. remain in place through August, and possibly until next year's
contest.
--The CCLC and City of Aspen will insure your sculpture--
estimated value $5,000-$8,000 depending on the piece selected.
--The CCLC Public Art Committee has the right to use your name
and photos of the sculpture for publicity. You will maintain the
sculpture's copyright, however.
--You wlll be expected to join in an "inaugural" celebration for
the Public Art Project, date to be determined.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call; my phone
number 920-3203.
Again, congratulations; and thank you for helping us bring new
and revitalized public art to downtown Aspen.-
Sincerely,
~Onne McGoyern
