Vice-chairman Don Swales called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Present were Terry Butler and Bill Dinsmoor. Excused was Jon Busch.
Absent were Jack Stanford' and John Start.
John Fightlin, Flying Dog Brew Pub manager, brought up the compactor in
the Red Onion alley. The door is broken and people are still throwing their
trash around the compactor instead of using it.
Bill suggested checking the trash and issuing a few tickets. He also relayed
his concern that the entire alley needs to work together.
Barbara Umbreit, customer relations coordinator for the City stated that
Environmental Health receives some complaints and then forwards them to
the Engineering Dept. to contact Lonnie Whitmire who then tries to rectify
the situation without a red tag. If that doesn't work then an Environmental
Health office can get involved. The City has a direct line for Lonnie.
Staff relayed that the encroachment red tags have not been ordered.
Environmental Health supplies some of the red tags for Lom~ie regarding
trash/health and safety. Lonnie has been working with United Waste
regarding the door etc.
Bill requested that staff contact BFI to see if they are interested in putting in
a compactor at the Red Onion alley.
Barbara stated that she will get with the assistant attorney to discuss the
contract and whether or not the existing compactor can be removed.
The entire CCLC has enforcement concerns and requested that the City
Manager attend the next meeting.
SCULPTURE UPDATE
