staff to forward that message to the Special Events Committee.

getting to the garage, The location of the valet is in front of the Carabou
Club. Tim said we need 'tO get some teeth in the contract.
Brian said when they get slammed and 14 cars pull up at once then the only
way to handle it is to park Mill and Hopkins
It only takes five cars backed up until you are in the intersection.' They need
to get the cars offthe street and some go in the alley behind city hall and
then they come and get them.
Brian said if the side entrance of the parking garage is closed then they have
to trek around to the from of the garage and they loose three to four minutes.
Andrew asked Tim how hard it is to keep the side entrance open.
Tim said he would look into keeping the side entrance open all the time,
He also said his staff finds that the cars are behind city hall which is
unacceptable. City Hall cannot be a staging area for the cars.
Brian said they pay the city $2. for every car no matter what. On a slow
night they might park 12 to 25 cars. From Dec. 26th to January 1s~ to
usually is 80 to 120 cars per night.
COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF DECEMBER 4~ 2002
Tim said the Community Bank lot is owned by the city and that is being
used by Brian and also the Hotel Jerome which is in violation.
Tim requested that Brian deal with the issue of staging cars or possibly hire
more people. Blocking the intersection is a hazard.
Brian said it is only bad at XMAS time and after the summer concerts.
Brian also said he has three employees and during the peak he has five
runners.
Tim said he is opposed to the Community bank being used as a staging area.
Brian's employees need to slow down in the garage. Speeding in the garage
is an issue.
Tim reminded Brian if a card is lost you need to notify Us the very next day.
Any car not in the garage is in violation. Tim finalized by saying that the
signage ends up in the middle of the street and that needs to be controlled
more.
Brian said he would like to get Tipsi Taxi trained and presently he cannot
because he is not an establishment.
Staffsuggested Brian contact Ellen Anderson and meet with her to discuss
the issues. It definitely would be better to make use of the Tipsi Taxi
program then having someone driving home intoxicated.
Tim said he would draft up the contract and bring it to the next CCLC
meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
