AN ORDINANCE ADOPTItl; A NEW RATE SCHEDULE FOR RETAIL ELECTRICAL
SERVICE AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 23-26 TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE, TO
AUTHORIZE THE IMPOSITION OF A SERVICE CHARGE OF THIRTY ($30.00)
DOLLARS FOR EACH TURN ON AND EACH SHUT-OFF OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has enacted certain notice and
hear ing requi rement s for se t ting rates for elect rica1 serv ice
along with a retail rate policy based on its wholesale electrical
purchase contract with the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska
(MEAN), on the Ruedi Reservoir Hydroelectric power project (Ruedi
Project), and on other power supplies: and
WHEREAS, Section 23-18 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Aspen provides that the rates for electrical service shall be set
forth in the most recent schedule approved by City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to enact a schedule of
rates for retail electrical service pursuant to said Section
23-18;
WHEREAS, City Council desires to add a section 23-26 to the
Municipal Code of the City of Aspen to provide for a service
charge of thirty ($30.00) dollars for each turn-on and each
shut-off of electrical service howsoever occurring,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO
SECTION 1
Pursuant to Section 23-18 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Aspen, the City Council does hereby establish the following
rate schedule for electrical power, such rates to be effective as
of January 15, 1987
A. The Purchased Power Subrate shall be:

B. The Commercial Customer City Facil ity Subrate shall

C. The Residential Customer City Facility Subrate shall
be:

D. The Monthly Customer Serv ice Charge for all retail
customers shall be: $S.OO/customer
E.
All of the above rates shall be effective
January 15,
1987
published on or about January 8, 1987 and a public hearing
thereon shall be held on February 9, 1987 in the City Counc il
Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
