AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 24 (SERIES OF 1986) TO
PROVIDE FOR ONE ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE COMMERCIAL CORE
AND LODGING COMMISSION, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE 1
(SERIES OF 1981) TO ENLARGE THEIR GEOGRAPHIC AREA TO
INCLUDE THE RIO GRANDE PROPERTY AND THE MAIN STREET
CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, The City Council establ ished the Commercial Core
and Lodging Commission by Ordinance #1, Seris of 1981, and re-
established it by Ordinance #24, Series of 1986, and
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Commercial Core and
Lodging Commission, the City Council desires to provide for the
appointment of one alternate to the Commercial Core and Lodging
Commissions, and
WHEREAS, the Commercial Core and Lodging Commission has
recommended the Rio Grande property and Main Street corridor be
included in the geographic area the Commission should address
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO;
Sectiun- 1-. The Commission shall be constituted of five (5)
members and one (1) alternate who shall serve a term of two (2)
years (although there shall be no restraint on the number of
terms any member may serve). Alternates shall vote only in the
absence of a regular member and when appointed an alternate shall
be designated as acting for the absent member.
Sect-ion--z:. The geographic area that the Commercial Core and
Lodging Commission should address is the area enclosed by Dean
Street, Monarch St reet, Spr ing Street, and incl uding the Rio
Grande Property, Main Street Corridor, the Lodge and Lodge 1
zones at the base of Aspen Mountain, and that portion of the Ute
Avenue area that is primarily devoted to lodging.

I f any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held
invalid or unconstitutional in a court of competent jurisdiction,
such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and shall not affect the val idi ty of the remaining
portion thereof.
Secti-on-4. Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to
affect any right, duty or liability under any ordinances in
effect prior to the effective date of this ordinance, and the
same shall be continued and concluded under such prior ordinan-
ces.
Section --5. A publ ic hear ing on the ordinance shall be held
on the ----- day of

the City Council Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
