(Series Of 1987)
AN ORDINANCE OF CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATING 215 W. HALLAM STREET AS
A H, HISTORIC LANDMARK STRUCTURE PURSUANT TO SECTION 24-9.3 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the structure at 215 W. Hallam street, on the east
16.46 feet of Lot E and all of Lot F, Block 50, Townsite and City
of Aspen, was listed in the 1980 Inventory of Historic sites and
structures as amended in 1986, was evaluated as a notable
historic resource, and received a historic evaluation rating from
the Aspen Historic Preservation Committee (hereinafter "HPC") of
"3"; and
WHEREAS, Jeannie Bascom, owner of the real property, has
filed a request for historic landmark designation pursuant to
section 24-9.3(b) (1) of the Municipal Code,and, as an inducement
to the City to accept historic designation, voluntarily agreed to
complete within twenty-four (24) months of designation the
general restoration plans thus far represented in her application
and to be considered during subsequent HPC meetings; and
WHEREAS, on October 13, 1987 HPC recommended designation of
the structure; and
WHEREAS, at a duly noticed public hearing on November 3,
1987 the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission recommended
designation of the structure; and
WHEREAS, City Council wishes to pursue those recommendations
and complete the designation process.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:

section 1
That the structure at 215 West Hallam street on east 16.46 feet
of Lot E and all of Lot F, Block 50, Townsite and city of Aspen,
be granted H, Historic Landmark designation upon the condition
that the applicant voluntarily agrees to complete within twenty-
four (24) months of historic designation the general restoration
plans thus far represented and to be considered during subsequent
HPC development review.
section 2
If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall
not affect other provisions or application of the Ordinance which
can be given effect without the invalid provision or application,
and to this end the provisions this Ordinance are declared to be
severable.
section 3
That a public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held on the ~
day of j)JJ~ , 1987 at 5:00 P.M. in the city
council Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado, fifteen (15)
days prior to which public notice was given in a newspaper of
general circulation in the city.
