["':4'-"~,'~.i: WHEREAS, Charles "Chic" Collins has ably and faithfully served as
~:.'}:~,.' ,. Councilmcmber of the City of Aspen, Colorado for eight years and his
-":"'-~' outstanding service has contributed to the continued prosperity of the
City and the accomplishment of its goals, and
~::.:-5 ,..:;, WHEREAS, Charles has not only served eight years as a Councilmembcr
I-~!':'.'~ :.::':} but was the Mayor Pro-Tem for two years and previously served for eight years
~.~:: .: :.. .,,., on the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission ....... such dedication and
l!(k(,~v~i-:'i' commitment have been unprecedented in the City's history; and
['~";"':(-~ -~;¢..WHEREAS, Charles has carefully established a close relationship with
~:"-. the Animals "Out of Control" Department as they assisted him in keeping tabs
~:Tf:: :~'(::?~5:.:' WHEREAS, Charles ably represented the people of Aspen as the Council's
· representative on the Roaring Fork Transit Authority for three years as it
[':'~ .:.:iworked to increase ridership, build bus stops, improve Rubey Park and begin to
'~ "~i~ explore links with
[:'-~.,¢, innovative Snowmass; and
: :, technical skill as the Council analyzed the wide range of public works projects
such as bridges, und.ergrounding, lighting, streets, etc.' and
.... '~ WHEREAS Charles always wore his dark glasses so we could never be
' '... :-'._,.4 absolutely sure what was going on and was affectionately dubbed with
? :'-...~ the title, . No"; and
[:~i.-'_:'' i WHEREAS, Charles's careful scrutiny of all proposals, his watchdogging
?::~..' ., of the budget process, and his championing the Growth Management Plan have
~::.?-- all brought fruit for the community as he inspired the council to be constantly
~::: ~'... aware of the quality of life and environment.
I - : , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
..- .: il ASPEN, COLORADO, that by this resolution, Charles "Chick" Collins be commended
i:;.:..~ for his service to the City of Aspen, and that this commendation be spread upon
[,~. . .i.! the public records of this city.
i'..:.. . ~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to
? Charles "Chick"Collins, as evidence of this appreciation of the City of Aspen for
