HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.018-87 (Series of 1987) WHEREAS, Charlotte Walls has ably and faithfully served-as .Councilmembcr of the City of Aspen, Colorado for four years, and such outstandin~ the continued prosperity of the -- ~ se~icc has contributed City and the accomplishment of its goals; and WHEREAS, Charlotte served diligently as a Councilmcmber for four years and and se~cd ably for two years as thc Mayor Pro-Tem; WHEREAS, Charlotte represented the City admirably on the Colorado Municipal League and even attended the National Conference in 1985; and WHEREAS, Charlotte traveled to Europe to represent ably the Council and people at Chamonix, Davos, and Garmisch-Parten Kirchen and she served as the Council member on the Sister Cities Committee; and WHEREAS, Charlotte has always aspired to be a Realtor but failing that, she was able to be involved as a Councilmember in the land use process and was vigilant in her efforts to keep the scale and scope of the community manageable and under control; and WHEREAS, Charlotte was instrumental in the passage of the comparable wo~h program which has upgraded wages and job descriptions, and she was ever vigilant to be sure our legislation was never sexist in its lauguage; and WHEREAS, Charlotte was able to tenaciously champion the four way walk at Mill and Main despite all levels of community protestation; and NOW, ~FORE BE IT ~SOL~D BY T~ CITY COUNC~ OF Tt~ CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, that by this resolution, Charlotte Walls be commended for her se~ice to the City of Aspen, and that this commendation be spread upon the public records of this city. BE IT FURTHER ~SOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to Charlotte Walls as evidence of this appreciation from the City of Aspen for this service, Dated this 8th day of June 1987.
