WHEREAS, The Aspen City Council urges the Board of County
Commissioners to keep every possible access to the Hunter Creek
Valley open and available to all City residents;
WHEREAS, historically citizens have come to rely on the
northerly route to gain access to this high, alpine valley;
WHEREAS, the Council feels that pedestrian access only
along the northerly route is essential and that no vehicles
should be allowed; and
WHEREAS, pedestrian access to Hunter Creek has been
uninterrupted for over eighteen years via the northerly route.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council on
August 24, passed unanimously the spirit of this resolution
requesting that the Board of County Commissioners pursue dili-
gently the guarantee of northerly access for all walkers to the
Hunter Creek Valley.~
