HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.020-88 RESOLUTION NO. ~ (Series of 1988) RESOLUTION OF THE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, ENDORSING THE CONCEPT OF AN HISTORIC RANCHING EXHIBIT AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE ASPEN AREA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: PARKS/RECREATION/OPEN SPACE/TRAILS ELEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council (hereinafter "council") is aware that the Planning and zoning Commission (hereinafter "commission") has reviewed and supports the concept of an Historic Ranching Exhibit on the Marolt parcel; and WHEREAS, the city Council understands that the concept of an Historic Ranching Exhibit includes a renovation of the Marolt Barn and the use of 1.9 acres of land, including the Marolt Barn, for Ranching Exhibits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: section 1 The Council endorses the concept of an Historic Ranching Exhibit on the Marolt Property as an amendment to the Aspen Area comprehensive Plan: Parks/Recreation/Open Space/Trails Element with the following conditions: 1) Parking for the Historic Ranching Exhibit will not be located on the Marolt-Thomas parcel. 2) The Historical society will provide a letter stating that the Historic Ranching Exhibit can coexist with the Direct Connection alternative for SH 82. 3) Prior to implementation of this concept the Historic Society shall provide the City with a formal agreement which requires the Historic Society to maintain the Exhibit and Exhibit area. 4) The Colorado writing, that Department of Highways shall indicate, this Historic Ranching Exhibit will in not interfere with the Direct Connection alternative for SH 82.
