JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ASPEN AND PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO
CONCERNING THE DONATION OF THE A1 PARCEL, THOMAS SUBDIVISION TO
COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSES OF CONSTRUCTING EMPLOYEE/PUBLIC HOUSING
RESOLUTION NO. 1/1-
(Series of 1988)
WHEREAS, Pitkin County ("County"), the Aspen Valley Hospital
District ("Aspen Valley Hospital"), and the Aspen/Pitkin County
Housing Authority ("Housing Authority") desire to construct a
joint employee/public housing project adjacent to the Aspen
Valley Hospital.
WHEREAS, the City of Aspen desires to facilitate the con-
struction of that joint Pitkin County/Aspen Valley Hospital/Hous-
ing Authority employee/public housing project adjacent to the
hospital and to construct the housing project on land currently
owned by the City of Aspen and the County of Pitkin by conveying
that parcel of land commonly referred to as the "A1 Parcel",
Thomas SUbdivision, to the County of Pitkin for the purposes of
facilitating the construction of this employee/public housing.
WHEREAS, the County desires to acquire this parcel for the
purposes of facilitating a joint employee/public housing project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN AND THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN
COUNTY, COLORADO:
section 1
The City of Aspen will convey to Pitkin County:
(a) Approximately square feet of land, commonly
known as the "AI Parcel", Thomas Subdivision.
(b) That said parcel of land will be restricted to
employee/public housing uses as such employee/public housing is
defined by the County pursuant to the approvals to be granted by
the County for the project.
Section 2
The Board of County Commissioners will accept this donation
for the specific purpose of the construction of the Pitkin
County/Aspen Valley Hospital employee/public housing project.

The Housing Authority, at its expense, on behalf of the
County, will submit a subdivision application to subdivide or
application for subdivision exemption, if necessary, for the
aforementioned parcel of land, in order to permit construction of
the employee/public housing project.
Section 4
The Housing Authority, at its expense, on behalf of the
County, will submit a rezoning application to the County, if
necessary.

Section 5
The City Council will request the Planning and Zoning
Commission to hold a public hearing to consider such rezoning and
subdivision exception, if necessary, at their next regularly
scheduled meeting on
Section 6
The City Council will direct its staff to expedite the
processing of any application by project before the Planning and
Zoning Commission to consider such rezoning and SUbdivision
exception.
BE IT RESOLVED that the foregoing is intended to be a
general statement of intention by the parties to cooperate to
effect the land donation and acquisition described herein. The
parties shall, on or before November 17, 1988, be presented by
the City Attorney with a proposed land exchange agreement
incorporating the specific terms and conditions of the proposed
land donation and the obligation of the City and County with
respect thereto.
