WHEREAS, Paul Taddune has been an outstanding pubffc servant for almost ten
years in Aspen and has contributed to the prosperity of the City, and
WHEREAS, This Yuppie, Uni~'ersity of Virginia law graduate fine tuned his skills
at the Judge Advocate's Court while in the Marines, entered the murky melange of
Washington, D.C. law for awhile and brought invaluable insight into Aspen's municipal
challenges of the '80's from his extensive upstate New York legal work and City
experience, and
WHEREAS, Paul came to Aspen after a nationwide search by a previous Council,
sword WHEREAS, and when as to the raise current the shield, staff attorney and stated so well, Paul knew when to draw the
WHEREAS, his sympathetic and patient style made Paul an ombudsman in City
.t-Iall for many citizens, and he always was sensitive to the nuances of five different
Councils which did not always have a clear cut consensus, and
WHEREAS, Paul, special attorneys selected by Paul, his able associates and Fred
Gannett, our current staff attorney, won literally every case litigated against the City or
the Council accepted effective compromises which worked for the people, and
WHEREAS, This worker bee was always accessible and available to citizens, staff
and Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, that by this resolution Paul Taddune be commended
for his service to the City of Aspen, and that this commendation be spread upon the
public records of the city.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to Paul
Taddune as evidence of this appreciation of the City of Aspen for his service.
