HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.026-89 RESOLUTION NO. ~ (SERIES OF 1989) A RESOLUTION SETl'ING ASIDE THE UNALLOCATED RESIDENTIAL UNITS FROM THE 1988 GROWTH MANAGEMENT QUOTA WHEREAS, the annual residential growth management quota within the City of Aspen is established by section 8-103 of the Aspen Land Use Regulations as 39 units; and WHEREAS, as a result of excess allotments previously granted to the 925 Durant Avenue and 777 Ute Avenue projects, units built which were exempt from the allocation process, the expiration of the Sunny Park project and the pending allocation of one (1) unit to the Sportstalker Apartments and two (2) units to the Greystones, there are fourteen (14) units which remain as unallocated from the 1988 residential quota; and WHEREAS, pursuant to section 8-103 C of the Aspen Land Use Regulations, the City Council has the discretion to carryover or eliminate the unallocated allotments from prior years; and WHEREAS, there is presently an extreme shortfall of affordable housing in the city of Aspen; and WHEREAS, the City of Aspen recently adopted Ordinance 21, Series of 1989, authorizing an "affordable housing set aside. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Aspen, Colorado, that the fourteen units which remain unallocated from the 1988 residential quota are hereby set aside to offset the production of affordable Dated: ....~~~C4I~/, housing during 1989 in Aspen. 1989. ~~ William L.
