HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.027-89 RESOLUTION NO. ~ (SERIES OF 1989) A REsoLuTION ELIMINATING THE UNALLOCATED COMMERCIAL ALLOTMENTS FROM THE 1988 GROWTH MANAGEMENT QUOTA WHEREAS, the annual commercial growth management quota which was in effect on September 15, 1988, within the City of Aspen was established by section 8-103 of the Aspen Land Use Regulations as follows: CC/C-1 Zone Districts Office Zone District NC/SCI Zone Districts CL and Other Zone Districts 10,000 square feet 4,000 square feet 7,000 square feet 3,000 square feet and WHEREAS, as a result of allocation of 1,571 square feet to the 516 E. HYman Avenue project in the CC zone district and the exemption of the 1,400 square foot addition to the Log Cabin in the Office zone district, the following approximate amounts of commercial quota remain unallocated from the 1988 competition: CC/C-1 Zone districts Office Zone District NC/SCI Zone District CL and Other Zone Districts 8,429 square feet 2,600 square feet 7,000 square feet 3,000 square feet ; and WHEREAS, pursuant to section 8-103 C of the Aspen Land Use Regulations, the City Council has the discretion to carryover or eliminate the unallocated allotments from prior years; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that because of the recent rate of commercial development through the exemption process and to avoid adding to the current extreme shortage of affordable housing in Aspen, all unallocated commercial allotments from 1988 should be eliminated. Resolution No. 89-~ Page 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado that all unallocated commercial allotments from 1988 are hereby eliminated.
